Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer 5 to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot complex enterprise network infrastructure. This role is responsible for the planning and implementation of LAN/WAN environments, network configurations, infrastructure upgrades, and project initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in network architecture, troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and project execution, along with the ability to provide technical guidance and training to team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN and WAN network infrastructure.
- Plan and execute network infrastructure projects, including new installations, upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
- Configure and troubleshoot network equipment such as routers, switches, bridges, concentrators, and related network devices.
- Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability, availability, and performance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity, performance, and infrastructure problems.
- Develop network configurations, technical documentation, diagrams, and implementation procedures.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, service providers, and technical partners for network installations and infrastructure projects.
- Evaluate vendor solutions, products, and services and participate in vendor comparisons and technical evaluations.
- Participate in project planning, resource estimation, scheduling, and cost analysis for network initiatives.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations for network architecture, infrastructure improvements, and technology adoption.
- Support network-related proposals, statements of work, technical requirements, and solution documentation.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and provide training and technical guidance to network engineers and other IT personnel.
- Assist with capacity planning, network optimization, technology refreshes, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Ensure network implementations follow established security, availability, performance, and operational standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of network and IT infrastructure projects.
- Participate in troubleshooting, incident resolution, and post-implementation reviews for major network initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience in enterprise network engineering and infrastructure operations.
- Strong hands-on experience with LAN/WAN technologies, routing, switching, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience configuring and supporting enterprise network equipment, including routers and switches.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, and network connectivity concepts.
- Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, performance analysis, and infrastructure optimization.
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to complex network implementation and infrastructure projects.
- Strong vendor management, technical evaluation, and coordination skills.
- Experience with project planning, cost analysis, technical documentation, and implementation planning.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional networking certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.
- Experience with large-scale enterprise or data center network environments.
- Knowledge of network security technologies and best practices.
- Experience with network automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Experience working in highly available, mission-critical network environments.
- Previous experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or training to network engineering teams.
