Role: IBM Mainframe GDPS Implementation Engineer
Location: Plano, TX / Tampa, FL / Columbus, OH / Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Conversion Possible)

Role Summary We are seeking a Senior Mainframe System Programmer specializing in IBM GDPS (Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex) to design, implement, and support high-availability and disaster recovery solutions across enterprise mainframe environments.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with GDPS Metro, Global Mirror, Metro Global Mirror (MGM), LCP, and related storage replication technologies, along with strong automation and resiliency expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement IBM GDPS solutions aligned with RTO/RPO objectives
• Deploy and configure:
• GDPS Metro
• GDPS Global Mirror
• Metro Global Mirror (MGM)
• LCP
• Test Copy Manager (TCM)
• Configure and maintain:
• IBM Z NetView
• IBM System Automation for z/OS
• Manage IBM DS8000 storage systems, including:
• Metro Mirror
• Global Mirror
• FlashCopy
• Safeguarded Copy
• Develop automation scripts (REXX / NetView)
• Support DR testing, failover/failback exercises
• Monitor GDPS using NetView, GDPS GUI, SDF
• Collaborate with storage, network, and infrastructure teams
• Document configurations and procedures

Required Experience

• 10+ years of IBM Mainframe experience
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• IBM GDPS (Metro, Global Mirror, MGM, LCP)
• Experience with:
• Parallel Sysplex
• z/OS
• Data sharing
• IBM Z NetView
• IBM System Automation for z/OS
• IBM DS8000 storage configuration
• REXX or automation scripting
• Disaster Recovery concepts (RTO/RPO, failover/failback)
• Cross-site replication (FICON, channel extenders)
• RACF or ACF2 security knowledge

Preferred

• GDPS MGM4SITE
• Logical Corruption Protection (LCP)
• IBM TS7700
• GDPS REST APIs
• IBM resiliency certifications
