Job#: 3020011 Job Description: A day in the life:You will work with engineers to create and develop in-lab experiments to test hardware
You will create interfaces between lab test benches and electromech hardware.
You should have a strong mechatronics background.
Bonus experience with Industrial Controls, HMI, GUI-development
Well-versed with Python programming
You will be involved with selection/specing motors, sensors, DAQs, and other accessories to enable tests
You will commission, integrate and debug test systems
You will create GUI's of test software (to interface electromech hardware) that will be used by technicians
You will develop a test plan and implement commanding, data handling, data visualization, and storage
You will validate test system outputs with internal stakeholders
The desired candidate will have experience in a fast paced R&D environment and will have the ability to respond quickly to interruptions and requests to support test teams.
This position requires strong conceptual development and the proficient use, and implementation, of various lab engineering processes within a prototyping environment. The desired candidate will also help to develop strategies that can be applied to scale products in an efficient manner.
About The Hiring GroupThe Prototyping and Integration Team accelerates hardware development via manufacturing, testing and integration of new-to-world products. Those learnings are then directly applied to scale aerospace manufacturing processes.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelors Degree, Associates Degree, or relevant Trades Degree (w/ 5+ years direct-experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; or related field.
- Experience building and maintaining hardware test systems
- Experience using various command line tools to execute tests
- Basic data acquisition experience and knowledge of sensors
- Hands-on Mechatronics development experience
- Experience developing software to execute requirement-driven test plans for electromechanical systems
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python for data acquisition/recording and analysis
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with automated test systems and hardware test racks
- Experience with Linux systems, git, Grafana
- Familiarity with basic electrical and wiring concepts
- Experience with environmental testing (Thermal, Thermal-Vacuum, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience with complex system design and architecture
- Familiarity with data acquisition and control system platforms such as NI or similar
- Familiarity with common communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, UART, SPI, etc.
- Experience working with electronics test equipment such as power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes and power meters
- Understanding of engineering requirements capture and the verification/validation test planning process
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
