Program Coordinator/ Tech Writer to work in our
Suitland, MD office.
ECS Federal, a rapidly expanding information security and information technology company in Fairfax, VA, is seeking a skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Program Coordinator and Technical Writer. The Cybersecurity Technical Writer will be responsible for managing the onboarding/offboarding process, supporting the creation of cybersecurity documents and program deliverables. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing, organization, and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the team. This role is crucial for ensuring that our cybersecurity posture is clearly communicated, understood, and adhered to across the organization.
- Develop and Maintain Cybersecurity Documentation:
- Create documents that convert complex, detailed system / network information into visual diagrams such as data flows, network diagrams, system interconnections etc., for multiple systems on prem and cloud.
- Produce clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, system descriptions, security control implementation details, and operational runbooks.
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation to include, but not limited to, response plans, policies, procedures, standards, security assessments, incident response plans, user manuals, and training materials.
- Prepare user-friendly guides, FAQs, and knowledge base articles for internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate reviews and approvals of documentation with relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in cybersecurity projects and initiatives, providing documentation support throughout the lifecycle.
- Onboarding and Offboarding Personnel:
- Interface with Contracting Office Representative to support the onboarding and offboarding of contract personnel.
- Manage communication with perspective candidates to ensure all appropriate onboarding documents are completed timely, accurately, and submitted to the onboarding team.
- Coordinate start dates, equipment issuance, badging, and equipment returns.
- Coordinate with ECS Security team to process clearance documentation for all contract personnel.
- Create and submit Employee Workforce Forms to ensure proper charge codes for all contract personnel
- Communicate Program expectations to onboarding contractors on their first day
- Program Management Office
- Create and maintain status reports for ECS and Client Management
- Facilitate communication with the Contracting Office Representative
- Provide support for task order management, transitional planning, timesheets, and deliverables across the contract
- Maintain staffing and inventory documents/charts
- Ensure all documentation adheres to established style guides, templates, and branding.
- Implement and maintain version control for documents.
- Continuously improving documentation processes and tools.
- Ensure that diagrams and visual standards to be applied across all systems
Salary Range: $84,000 - $97,000
General Description of Benefits
Required Skills - Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in administration and documentation development
- Proficiency with documentation tools and content management systems.
- Strong portfolio of technical writing samples demonstrating clarity, accuracy, and adherence to style guides.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications/Licenses: - Ability to obtain a Public Trust
Desired Skills Additional Experience and Certification Preferred - Certifications such as Microsoft Office Certifications, Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC), or similar.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Familiarity with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) frameworks and tools.
