Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Automotive Systems Knowledge
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, embedded systems, or ECU behavior (especially Instrument Cluster, Telematics, Display Units, Camera, Gateway, etc.).
CAN / LIN / Ethernet Communication
• Ability to analyze and debug using tools like CANalyzer, CANoe, or Wireshark.
Diagnostic Protocols
• Understanding of UDS, OBD, DTCs, and diagnostic tools (e.g., Vector, ETAS).
Embedded Software / Firmware Basics
• Ability to read logs, interpret system behavior, and debug issues at software interface level.
System Integration & Validation
• Field-level issue analysis, working with test benches or in-vehicle testing.
Strong Communication Skills
• Clear written and verbal communication with OEM stakeholders and internal teams.
Issue Reporting & Follow-up
• Ability to log, track, and report defects in tools like JIRA, DOORS, or OEM-specific platforms.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Act as the single point of contact between OEM engineering team (e.g., Volvo, PACCAR, Daimler).
• Attend daily/weekly technical meetings, understand customer expectations, and communicate updates effectively.
• Reproduce, analyze, and gather logs for issues seen during vehicle testing or field validation.
• Use tools like CANalyzer/CANoe, oscilloscopes, or OEM diagnostic tools to isolate faults.
• Ensure smooth hardware and software integration of components into OEM systems.
• Support configuration, flashing, and calibration activities on test benches or in-vehicle.
• Log defects and observations in the correct tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, DOORS, DAVIE, DSA).
• Work closely with offshore/engineering teams to provide reproducible steps, logs, and test scenarios.
• Proactively identify and flag potential risks, delays, or critical issues to both customer and internal stakeholders
