Google Workspace Administrator

Introduction:

The Google Workspace Administrator will be responsible for administering and managing Google Workspace environments in a multi-tenant setup. They will lead and support M&A integration activities, design and implement solutions, utilize Google APIs and Google Cloud Platform services for automation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise-scale initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage Google Workspace environments (multi-tenant setup).
  • Lead and support M&A integration activities, including onboarding new tenants.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Google Workspace solutions and integrations.
  • Utilize Google APIs and Google Cloud Platform services for automation and platform enhancements.
  • Perform platform engineering, system design, and security/risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, App Script, PowerShell).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise-scale initiatives.
  • Support identity integrations (Okta) and manage operational tasks related to authentication systems.
  • Ensure platform stability, scalability, and performance across environments.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Google Workspace Certification (Mandatory)
  • Strong hands-on experience as a Google Workspace Administrator / Platform Engineer
  • Experience with:
    • Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
    • Google APIs & integrations
  • Proven ability to lead and own platform components or tenants
  • Strong understanding of system design, security, and risk management
  • Experience working in fast-paced, enterprise environments
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Okta (SSO, lifecycle management, integrations)
  • Exposure to AWS (automation, integrations)
  • Experience with automation scripting (Python, Java, App Script, PowerShell)
  • Prior experience supporting M&A integration projects
  • Background in large-scale or mid-sized enterprise environments

Team & Environment:

  • Team size: 6-7 members supporting multiple Google Workspace tenants
  • Currently managing 5 tenants, with expansion to 7+ tenants
  • High-visibility role supporting enterprise-wide collaboration platforms

Work Model:

  • Preferred: Hybrid in McLean, VA or Richmond, VA
  • Flexible: Open to remote candidates working EST hours
  • Conversion: Must be open to full-time conversion (location alignment may be required post-conversion)

Interview Process:

  • Single round interview (45-minute panel)

Additional Notes:

  • This role requires someone who can "hit the ground running" and quickly take ownership.
  • Strong emphasis on Google Workspace expertise over all other skills.
