Embedded Audio Engineer

Introduction:

The Embedded Audio Engineer will be responsible for developing embedded audio systems, including firmware development, signal processing, and hardware interfaces. This role will involve working with a team of engineers to design and implement audio solutions for various projects.

Responsibilities:

Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
Experience with RTOS or bare-metal firmware development.
Developing distributed compute solutions for multi-core, multithread systems.
Implementing audio signal processing algorithms and integrating with hardware interfaces such as I2S, PDM, I2C, SPI, and UART.
Debugging and troubleshooting audio systems using lab equipment and software tools.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Designing and implementing low-power firmware solutions for audio devices.
Utilizing Audio Precision equipment and tools for audio testing and validation.
Working with Bluetooth audio stacks, USB audio, and wireless audio protocols.
Participating in hardware design reviews and providing input for PCB layouts.
Adhering to Agile development methodologies and practices.

Requirements:

Required Skills:

4+ years of experience in C/C++ embedded systems development.
Experience with RTOS or bare-metal firmware development.
Knowledge of audio DSP integration, ideally with HiFi and Qualcomm Hexagon.
Experience with hardware bring-up and debugging.
Experience with multi-core/multithread distributed computing.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with power management and low-power firmware design.
Familiarity with Bluetooth audio stacks, USB audio, or wireless audio protocols.
Knowledge of hardware design and schematic/PCB review.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
