Summary
Role: Security Data Analyst
Location: RTP, NC - Remote or Hybrid Remote, EST time zone
Duration: 7/24/2026 to 10/19/2026 (3 month’s contract with potential to extend an additional quarter)
Minimum Requirements:
1. Experience:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in security and data analysis, focused on identifying risks or anomalies in large datasets.
2. Technical Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency in SIEM investigations (preferably Splunk), dashboarding, detection tuning, telemetry analysis, and risk reporting.
Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform (preferably AWS), including IAM, cloud logging, and endpoint telemetry.
3. Programming & Automation:
Proficiency in Python and SQL (or similar languages) for data analysis, pipeline development, log normalization, API integrations, and workflow automation.
4. Frameworks & Governance:
Practical, hands-on experience applying security frameworks such as NIST CSF and NIST AI RMF, including audit logging, security metrics, and risk indicators.
Desired Skills:
CISSP, CCSP, Data Forensics Investigation, and/or relevant AI certifications (strongly preferred).
Experience independently developing automation scripts and data pipelines, as well as working with and enhancing existing solutions.
Expertise in one major cloud platform (AWS preferred); willingness to learn others is valued.
Additional role, initiative and group information:
The Security (Data) Analyst will be a key member of Client’s Data Protection team, responsible for deep analysis of large, complex datasets across both cloud and enterprise environments to identify data risks and anomalies. This role requires hands-on expertise in SIEM investigations (especially Splunk), dashboarding, detection tuning, telemetry analysis, and risk reporting. The analyst will leverage advanced data and automation skills—including Python, SQL, API integrations, pipeline development, log normalization, and workflow automation—to build and maintain scalable processes for risk identification.
In addition, the role demands practical experience in cloud and enterprise security, including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, IAM, cloud logging, and endpoint telemetry. The analyst will apply frameworks such as NIST CSF and NIST AI RMF for governance, security metrics, risk indicators, and audit logging, ensuring the team''s data protection strategies are both operationally effective and audit-ready. Candidates should be able to independently develop automation scripts and data pipelines, as well as enhance and work with existing solutions.
The Security (Data) Analyst will collaborate closely with the DLP, DSPM, and Data Investigations teams to inform and develop data protection policies, support investigations, and drive continuous improvement in data security posture.
