Modem Software Engineer

Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite)

The Semiconductor''s Modem Software team is seeking Software Engineers with strong experience in cellular modem software, embedded systems, and wireless communications to help develop and commercialize next-generation modem technology for the North American market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and commercialize Samsung Exynos modem software for the North American market.
• Analyze field and test equipment logs, debug issues, and implement software fixes.
• Participate in new feature development, verification, and optimization.
• Improve embedded software performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver end-to-end modem solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor''s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, Master''s with 3+ years, or PhD with wireless communications experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming experience in embedded systems.
• Solid understanding of hardware abstraction layers (HAL) and embedded software concepts.
• Experience with 3GPP Layer 1 protocols and specifications.
• Knowledge of physical layer channels (PDCCH, PDSCH, PBCH) and downlink procedures.
• Understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols, especially MAC, RLC, PDCP, and RRC.
• Experience working with test equipment, log analysis, and debugging modem software.
• Ability to take ownership of features from development through commercialization.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
