SAIC has an opening for a Senior System Engineer billet in Arlington, VA. SAIC is recognized as an IT leader in the intelligence and law enforcement spaces. This exciting opportunity will be supporting the United States Marshals Services' unique mission needs. We are seeking an individual to join the team who is fully committed to the success of USMS programs and bringing the best innovation, implementation, and attitudes to bear to the position.

Description of Duties:

The Senior System Engineer will perform high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers. Additionally, the candidate will:

Coordinate, direct and perform complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages

Schedule installations, upgrade and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures

Continually monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels

Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities

Ensure data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations

Plan and implement the modernization of servers

Develop, implement and promote standard operating procedures and schedules

Conduct hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines

Develop and implement new standards, policies and procedures.

Work closely with Network and Systems Analysts to help determine and develop the systems that will be implemented



Qualifications

Required E xperience/Skills/Attributes:

Secret clearance or above

• Bachelor's Degree in IT or Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work-related experience
• Fourteen (14) or more years' experience; at least five (5) in System Engineering or System Administration

Desired Experience/Skills/Attributes:

• Worked in System Engineering or System Administration with government agencies
