Summary
Job Title: Java Microservices Developer
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid: 4 days onsite, Monday Thursday)
Position Type: Long-Term Contract
Interview Process: Phone/Video Screening followed by a mandatory In-Person Final Round Interview
Preference to Locals or nearby ( F2F Expenses will be covered)
We are seeking an experienced Java Microservices Developer to join our engineering team in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize high-throughput, low-latency APIs and distributed microservices supporting critical financial platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade microservices and RESTful APIs using Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
- Build and maintain event-driven streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka to ensure real-time balance calculations, sub-ledger integrity, and cash management data flow.
- Containerize applications and manage deployments onto OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
- Design robust data models, write complex SQL queries, and optimize relational database interactions for high-volume transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, product managers, and solution architects to deliver scalable, resilient solutions.
- Conduct code reviews, implement comprehensive unit/integration testing, and adhere to CI/CD and secure coding standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 5 7+ years of hands-on software development experience focusing on enterprise backend systems.
- Core Java & Frameworks: Strong proficiency in Java (8/11/17+) and deep hands-on expertise with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architecture.
- Event Streaming: Proven experience implementing real-time messaging, streaming, and event-driven patterns with Apache Kafka.
- Cloud & Containerization: Solid working experience deploying and managing microservices on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Docker.
- API Development: Extensive experience building, securing, and documenting scalable RESTful APIs.
- Database & SQL: Strong proficiency in relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server) with advanced SQL querying and performance tuning skills.
- Build & DevOps: Experience with build/CI tools such as Maven/Gradle, Git, and Jenkins pipelines.
Work Model & Interview Requirements
- Hybrid Schedule: Must be available to work onsite 4 days per week (Monday through Thursday) in Minneapolis, MN.
- Interview Process: Candidates must be willing and able to attend an in-person final round interview at the Minneapolis office.
