Role Overview
Our Client is implementing SAP to modernize its customer, billing, and product management capabilities. We are seeking an experienced SAP BRIM (Billing & Revenue Innovation Management) Consultant to design, configure, and deploy BRIM components that support client's portfolio of products and services-including residential and business energy programs, billing/payment solutions, clean energy offerings, and grid related services.
This role requires deep expertise in SAP BRIM, utility industry processes, and integration with SAP IS U/S4 Customer Management. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, SAP architects, and implementation partners to translate Client's service catalog into scalable, compliant BRIM solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product & Service Modeling
- Analyze Client's product and service catalog (e.g., residential energy programs, business programs, billing/payment options, clean energy initiatives) and translate them into BRIM product models.
- Configure SAP Subscription Order Management (SOM) for product bundles, recurring services, usage based services, and one time charges.
- Define pricing, rating, and charging logic aligned with Client's tariff structures and regulatory requirements.
2. Billing & Revenue Management
- Implement SAP Convergent Charging (CC) for usage based billing scenarios (e.g., energy consumption, program participation fees).
- Configure SAP Convergent Invoicing (CI) for invoice aggregation, bill formatting, and integration with payment channels.
- Ensure alignment with Client's customer billing and payment experience, including digital account management and personalized billing options.
3. Integration with SAP IS U & S/4HANA
- Design integration between BRIM and SAP IS U for meter data, usage, billing determinants, and customer master data.
- Collaborate with SAP IS U teams to ensure seamless flow of consumption data, billing triggers, and account-level adjustments.
- Support integration with financial components (FI CA, GL, AR).
4. Customer Programs & Clean Energy Initiatives
- Model BRIM solutions for Client's clean energy and grid related programs, such as:
- Energy efficiency programs
- Residential/business rebates
- Clean energy transition initiatives
- Transmission related services and grid modernization offerings
- Support future expansion of services tied to renewable energy, storage, and large load customer solutions.
5. Regulatory & Compliance Alignment
- Ensure BRIM configuration aligns with state specific regulatory requirements across Client's service territories.
- Support auditability, traceability, and reporting for billing, revenue recognition, and customer program participation.
6. Project Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead workshops with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and validate solution designs.
- Produce functional specifications, configuration documentation, test scripts, and training materials.
- Support SIT, UAT, cutover, and hypercare activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in SAP BRIM (SOM, CC, CI, FI CA).
- Strong background in utilities, especially electric/gas service providers.
- Hands on experience integrating BRIM with SAP IS U and/or S/4HANA Utilities.
- Deep understanding of usage billing, subscription services, and complex pricing models.
- Experience with regulated utility billing, tariffs, and customer programs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with North American utilities or energy providers.
- Familiarity with Client's customer programs, billing processes, and clean energy initiatives.
- Prior involvement in large scale SAP S/4 or BRIM transformations.
- Knowledge of renewable energy, grid modernization, or large load customer services/
