Job Type: Contract

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $24.00hr - $29.00hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, fiber plant, and low-voltage cabling.
  • Experience with physical Layer 1 connectivity troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in managing the installation and maintenance of servers, storage devices, and network equipment.
  • Experience overseeing low-voltage contractors and construction projects.
  • Familiarity with asset management systems such as Netbox or Nautobot.
  • Ability to produce construction documents and specifications for cabling contractors.
  • Experience monitoring power usage at rack and building levels using smart PDU/UPS systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations within offices, network equipment rooms, and labs to ensure hardware and systems function properly.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics for hardware and network-related issues, including physical Layer 1 connectivity.
  • Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage devices, and network equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and regular inspections of equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Audit IT environments regularly to identify changes, clean up cabling, and ensure asset accuracy.
  • Assist with planning, implementation, and management of system monitoring tools while responding to alerts and incidents.
  • Coordinate regional power shutdown events with infrastructure functions and users.
  • Lead regional meetings and teams to resolve problems and incidents independently.
  • Partner with facilities and stakeholders to understand project design and requirements for construction and low-voltage deployment.
  • Oversee low-voltage contractors to deploy infrastructure based on design specifications.
  • Contribute to ROM/BOM and procure materials for new builds.
  • Produce construction documents and specifications for low-voltage cabling contractors.
  • Define locations for equipment within network rooms including security panels, rack positions, and service wall fields.
  • Conduct regular construction site walks and provide reports with feedback on work in progress.
  • Record close-out documentation at project completion and facilitate handovers to users.
  • Track capacity of available ports, fiber plant, and PDU outlets within network rooms.
  • Assist with racking and cabling equipment and configure smart PDU/UPS systems.
  • Document network rooms and components within asset management systems via mass import or UI.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to hardware configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and data center processes.
  • Manage vendors and provide working instructions and Statements of Work.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various business initiatives and projects.
