Job Title: Clinical Development Lab Technician
Primary Function of Position:
The Clinical Development Engineering team at Intuitive Surgical holds a unique position within product development by identifying clinical value and demonstrating safe, effective, and reliable use of robotic platforms and their components. With their passion for patient care, laboratory experience and proficiency with experimental methods, the Clinical Development Lab Technician (CDLT) works alongside Clinical Development Engineers to evaluating products in pre-clinical setting. The CDLT is responsible for preparing pre-clinical models, supporting data collection and managing laboratory equipment and logistics.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Supports laboratory experiments through set-up/tear-down, clinical model set up, data collection, and technical assistance throughout studies
Set-up, tear-down, and operates laboratory & medical equipment such as CT scanner, C-Arm, ultrasound throughout laboratory studies
Manages laboratory supplies inventory and maintenance, including lab equipment, tissue orders, and other study accessories
Leads lab scheduling and coordination efforts, ensuring studies are prioritized and supported appropriately.
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
For adequately performing the responsibilities of this position, the individual must have:
Relevant Associate’s degree or High School diploma with relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University
Willingness to learn surgical terminology, anatomy, and medical techniques to prepare pre-clinical models.
Mechanical aptitude and intuition for spatial relations, proficiency with laboratory equipment and troubleshooting
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to ensure timely project success
