Data Reporting Analytics Contractor

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Tampa, FL that is seeking a Data Reporting Analytics Contractor.

Responsibilities:
* Ingest and model cost data from Azure Data Explorer (Kusto/KQL) and design a performant semantic model for reporting
* Lead requirements elicitation with portfolio and application leaders: Facilitate working sessions to understand what they want to see; Translate needs into report mockups, user stories, and an iterative delivery plan
* Define and document business rules (allocation/tagging logic, cost categories, definitions of MTD/forecast, etc.)
* Implement report governance basics: refresh approach, access/security, and lightweight documentation for handoff

Build and enhance Power BI dashboards for:
* Month-to-date (MTD) cost views
* Cost trends and key drivers by portfolio/application
* Forecasting (run-rate and forward-looking projections)
* Drill-downs for application, owner, subscription/resource group, and other relevant dimensions

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong Power BI experience (data modeling, DAX, performance tuning, and dashboard design)
* Hands-on experience with Azure Data Explorer and KQL (querying and shaping data for analytics)
* Proven ability in stakeholder interviews/workshops and turning ambiguous asks into clear reporting requirements
* Strong communication skills; Able to present insights to leaders and iterate quickly

Preferred:
* Familiarity with FinOps practices (unit economics, showback/chargeback concepts, cost allocation, optimization signals)
* Experience building cost transparency reporting for cloud (Azure) environments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
