Job Description5-D Systems, Inc., a KRATOS Company, has exciting Systems Engineering Internship opportunities for current undergraduate and graduate students. As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will work with a team of talented and experienced defense industry personnel and systems engineers in performing activities to include administrative, requirement analysis and decomposition familiarization, exposure to development of system architecture, system design, and system verification.
5-D is a technical services and solutions company. We design, develop, integrate and test unmanned and manned aircraft systems and subsystems, ground vehicles, and aerospace technologies. Our internship opportunities range from 4-8-week assignments and may include mentoring, special projects, and end of assignment presentations. Work with us on exciting projects and learn from our team of experts!
Responsibilities and Duties May Include:- Administrative tasks to support a defense industry business
- Reviewing or creation of technical documents
- Supporting with lab or subsystem/system testing and reporting
- Completing data analysis
- Supporting trade studies, technical recommendations, and presentations
- End of summer intern presentation
Experience and Skills- Fundamental engineering skills
- Systems thinking
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Professional self-starter harboring a positive attitude
Requirements:- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a technical bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Software or Systems)
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level student
- Include your transcript with your resume
- Willingness to learn program/organizational processes and procedures
- Ability to professionally engage with all levels of staffing
Preferred:- Previous engineering project and/or internship experience
- Coursework in modern application of architectures or methodologies, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, and systems engineering
- Technical writing exposure through coursework or experience
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Experience working with Interface Control Definitions (ICD)
- Course work in requirements analysis, development, traceability, and verification
- 3.7 cumulative GPA or higher
- Leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
- Experience in developing and delivering presentations and leading small groups
