The AMT Lead A&P brings advanced technical expertise and leadership to aircraft maintenance operations, with specialized knowledge of the G500, G600, and G700 build processes. This familiarity enables efficient coordination of complex mechanical, electrical, and structural tasks, ensuring precision and compliance throughout each phase of maintenance and modification. The lead technician supports high standards of quality and safety while guiding teams through troubleshooting, inspections, and documentation aligned with FAA regulations and Gulfstream specifications.


Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 10 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) to include 4 years of relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required. Valid Driver s License required.

Position Purpose:

Plan and coordinate various technical functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components to ensure proper operation. Provide work directions to technicians performing aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting and repair duties.
Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Ensure required. maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems .
  2. Lead the repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems .
  3. Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements .
  4. Ensure completion of work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner .
  5. Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications .
  6. Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely .
  7. Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment .
  8. Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components .
  9. Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed .

Additional Functions:
  1. Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean .
  2. Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment .
  3. Coordinate movement of aircraft, as required. .
  4. Maintain advanced knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
  2. Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.).
  3. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
