Role Overview
The client is seeking a Configuration Manager with strong ITIL expertise to support IT Service Management operations. This role is responsible for establishing, governing, and improving configuration management processes, maintaining the CMDB, and ensuring the integrity and traceability of configuration items across IT services. The position collaborates with multiple IT teams to support change, incident, and problem management within a cloud-enabled environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management policies and processes aligned with ITIL standards
Manage and maintain the CMDB, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance of configuration data
Define and enforce configuration item (CI) identification, control, and reporting policies
Collaborate with Change, Incident, and FinOps teams to support reliable service delivery
Work with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams to collect and maintain CI data
Monitor and audit CMDB data to ensure data quality and reliability
Establish KPIs and metrics to track configuration management maturity and CMDB health
Provide guidance to IT teams on configuration management best practices
Support governance, risk, and compliance initiatives related to IT services
Required Skills (with Years)
Configuration Management within an ITIL environment
Configuration Management in a cloud environment, particularly Azure
Experience managing and maintaining a CMDB
Strong understanding of ITIL processes including Configuration, Change, Incident, and Problem Management
Hands-on experience with CMDB tools, including CI class modeling and discovery tools
Experience with Ivanti Neurons for ITSM
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
