Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support enterprise initiatives focused on reviewing, updating, and maintaining documents and web-published content for ADA and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
This role provides an opportunity to establish best practices, lead remediation efforts, and train program staff to ensure ongoing compliance with accessibility standards and internal policies for published documents and web content.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and update documents and web content to ensure compliance with ADA and WCAG 2.1 AA standards
- Establish and document best practices for accessibility compliance and remediation
- Train program staff on accessibility standards, tools, and best practices
- Lead and coordinate accessibility remediation efforts across teams
- Meet weekly with leadership to track progress, remove blockers, and set priorities
- Collaborate with web administrators, web teams, forms analysts, and accessibility review teams
- Produce high-quality technical documentation supporting business operations, reports, and communications
- Use accessibility tools to test and remediate documents and web content
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of general technical writing experience
- Strong experience producing technical content for business operations and communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Specific Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year mentoring and working with teams to implement documentation standards, including training development and delivery
- Minimum 2 years reviewing existing documentation against defined standards and documenting/prioritizing gaps
- Minimum 1 year of experience working on projects with a dedicated ADA / WCAG 2.1 AA focus
- Minimum 1 year of experience using accessibility tools such as:
- Microsoft Accessibility Checker
- Adobe Accessibility Checker
- Similar ADA compliance tools
