What you'll be doing...

As a Distinguished Engineer within the Technology Product Development team, you will architect the next generation of our wireless business solutions, including One Talk, Mission Critical Push-to-Talk, and Mid-Market UC. You will lead feature development, architecture, testing and implementation for key product initiatives intended to position our products for success. You will operate with full autonomy, managing all aspects of projects and vendor partnerships to ensure successful, efficient product delivery.

What we're looking for...
  • Project and Vendor Management: Single-handedly manage the full lifecycle of technical projects and serve as the primary contact for all external vendor relationships.
  • Product Expertise: Serve as a technical authority and E2E expert of wireless business communication products.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively identify and execute on opportunities to introduce product efficiencies and streamline development and operational processes.
  • Innovation: Maintain a keen curiosity for emerging technologies, actively exploring and proposing AI use cases for integration into our product suite.
  • Technical Delivery: Lead the technical design, testing, and deployment of features across our product portfolio.
  • Product Evaluation: Maintain hands-on lab activities to conduct proof of concept work, evaluating internal and external solutions with an eye for designing new product solutions.

You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Technical experience in one of the following: 4G LTE OR 5G RAN, OR IMS network infrastructure.
  • Experience wireless communication solutions, application traffic flows, and platforms.
  • Strong VoIP and IP Telephony experience (SIP, RTP/RTCP protocols).
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, oral and written communications skills.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent
  • Master's Degree and/or Industry Certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Linux, Openstack, Microsoft, AWS, etc).
  • Experience with Business communication products
  • Solid understanding of mobile device operating systems, applications, and platforms.
  • Experience with assessing and leading current Verizon technologies, leading large integration projects, or launching a new product from the ground up.
  • Development and/or experience with automation
  • Experience with 3rd-party application integration, authentication, and authorization using programmatic APIs.
  • Experience with application / infrastructure virtualization within a service provider network.
  • Experience deploying applications in Google Play and iOS ecosystems
  • Familiarity with Public Sector/Public Safety communications products
  • Results focused with solid technical and business acumen.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $153,000.00 - $267,000.00.
