Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to serve as the technical leader for the lifecycle management of a large-scale Kubernetes compute platform. This platform is the foundation for everything Cloud Infrastructure delivers spanning security, networking, developer experience, and efficiency across multiple cloud vendors. The consistency and reliability of this platform directly enables product teams across the entire organization.
In this role, you'll provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, influence and coach a distributed engineering team, and contribute to a multi-year cloud platform strategy. You'll be hands-on in design, development, and delivery while also driving alignment across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines. This is not a button-clicking role we need someone who writes Kubernetes controllers, builds admission webhooks, and leads from the front.
The ideal candidate is deeply proficient in Go (Golang), brings advanced Kubernetes expertise, and has the communication skills to influence engineers and stakeholders across a distributed organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership on high-impact, cross-team engineering projects
- Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers across the cloud infrastructure organization
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance the Kubernetes compute platform
- Write Kubernetes controllers and build admission webhooks to support platform lifecycle management
- Deliver enhancements that drive cost efficiency across the cloud platform
- Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables across concurrent initiatives
- Contribute to the multi-year strategy to evolve the enterprise cloud platform
- Ensure reliability, scalability, security, and strong developer experience for infrastructure and product teams
Required Experience & Skills
- 12+ years of relevant infrastructure engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) strongly preferred
- Advanced Kubernetes expertise specifically hands-on experience writing Kubernetes controllers and building admission webhooks
- 4+ years of experience with a public cloud provider (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure) and IaaS offerings such as EC2
- Experience setting technical direction and successfully executing large projects spanning multiple teams
- Strong communication and leadership skills this role influences and coaches a distributed engineering team
- Passionate about efficiency, availability, quality, and developer experience

- Experience with multi-cloud platform standardization and consistency efforts
- Background supporting large-scale infrastructure modernization initiatives
Education
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field; equivalent work experience considered
