Title - Scrum Master
Location-hybrid in Melbourne, FL
Duration Contract
Client is executing a large-scale enterprise transformation built on Palantir Foundry, centered on the Unified Data Layer (UDL) platform. The platform consolidates data from hundreds of disparate source systems - including 30+ ERP instances and operational databases - to deliver authoritative program performance visibility across schedule, cost, earned value, financial, material, and operational data.
As part of an urgent developer surge, we are also adding experienced Scrum Masters and Delivery Leads to coordinate and manage incoming contractor development teams. These roles are critical to ensure that a rapidly expanding group of external developers that can be integrated quickly, assigned to active
sprints, and delivering visible progress from day one.
The environment is fast-moving, executive-facing, and highly iterative. Requirements evolve rapidly as business leaders shape direction.
About the Role
This is a hands-on delivery coordination role, not a governance or reporting function. The Scrum Master / Delivery Lead will be embedded in one or more active development sprint teams working across priority workstreams: PDC Product, Operating System, and Cost-to-Serve. They will be responsible for running agile ceremonies, managing sprint backlogs, removing blockers, and ensuring developers - including new contractor on boardees - are productive and focused on the right work at all times.
Candidates who skew toward meeting facilitation, status reporting, or documentation without active sprint ownership are not a fit for this engagement.
Responsibilities
- Run all agile ceremonies for assigned sprint teams: sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Own and maintain the sprint backlog in Jira; ensure user stories are well-defined, acceptance criteria are clear, and story points are assigned before sprint start
- Coordinate onboarding of new contractor developers into active sprints; ensure environment access, team introductions, and first task assignments are completed within the first week
- Track sprint velocity and flag delivery risks to IT leadership and the AlixPartners program management team in real time, not at the end of the sprint
- Remove blockers actively - escalate dependencies, coordinate across workstreams, and follow up until issues are resolved
- Maintain visibility of contractor hours, output, and sprint contribution; provide input to weekly status reporting
- Support resource allocation decisions by providing accurate, up-to-date views of each developer's workstream assignment and capacity
- Coordinate across multiple sprint teams if needed, particularly as contractor headcount increases across PDC Product, Operating System, and other workstreams
- Contribute to the operating model for managing a mixed team of internal LHX developers, Palantir contractors, and external surge contractors working in the same Foundry environment
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of Scrum Master or agile delivery lead experience on software development or data engineering teams
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate teams of 5-15 developers in sprint-based delivery environments
- Hands-on Jira experience: backlog management, sprint configuration, burndown tracking, and reporting
- Strong communication skills - comfortable running standups, pushing back on scope creep, and escalating blockers directly to IT leadership and business stakeholders
- Experience onboarding new team members into active sprints with minimal disruption to delivery cadence
- Ability to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities without losing sprint structure or team momentum
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) preferred but not required if experience is strong
Palantir Foundry Experience (Strongly Preferred, Not Required)
Unlike the developer roles in this surge, Foundry experience is a strong plus but not a hard requirement for Scrum Masters and Delivery Leads. What matters most is the ability to manage technical delivery teams effectively in a complex, fast-moving environment.
That said, candidates who have:
- Worked as Scrum Master or PM on a Palantir Foundry deployment
- Participated in Foundry sprint ceremonies alongside FDEs or deployment strategists
- Managed backlogs that included ontology work, pipeline development, or Workshop application builds
Also Valuable
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or regulated industries
- Background in consulting or transformation delivery environments
- Familiarity with enterprise ERP environments (SAP, CostPoint, PeopleSoft, Infor ERPLN) in a program management context
- Experience managing geographically distributed or remote-first development teams
