Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

Citrix Core Technologies: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Citrix XenApp 6.x / 7.x and Citrix XenDesktop 7; in-depth understanding of the Citrix farm topology (network, compute, storage, and database layers).

Gateways & Load Balancing: Minimum 3+ years of experience with Citrix NetScaler / Access Gateway; 5+ years administering remote access solutions across Citrix, Cisco, and Juniper product suites.

Network & Infrastructure Administration: 5+ years of Network Administration and Infrastructure experience, including DNS, DHCP, IPSec, SSL VPN architectures, and functional network troubleshooting.

Virtualization & Systems: Solid technical knowledge of VMware environments, Active Directory, Windows Server platforms, SQL Server, Altiris, and desktop OS administration.

Provisioning & Monitoring: Hands-on understanding of Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) bootstrap redundancy, network optimization, and performance analysis using EdgeSight/Director reporting.

Soft Skills & Communication: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to interface with senior leadership, communicate architectural proposals, and author technical documentation/training materials.

Roles & Responsibilities

Architecture & Build:

Build, configure, and scale the enterprise Citrix stack on top of a VMware virtualized infrastructure.

Assess environment readiness and evaluate server performance metrics to identify virtualization candidates and right-size compute resources.

Configure Access Gateway / NetScaler implementations, secure policies, and authentication workflows.

Architect and optimize Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS), including bootstrap redundancy and network throughput tuning.

Operations & Escalation Support:

Deliver advanced, escalated L3/L4 technical support to diagnose and resolve complex system and farm issues.

Monitor farm health and analyze EdgeSight and reporting metrics to detect performance bottlenecks and recurring problem trends.

Optimize server and session performance across XenApp published applications and XenDesktop virtual desktops.

Manage base image creation, patching, and application packaging/deployment cycles.

Stakeholder Engagement & Documentation:

Present systems architecture proposals, status updates, and technical recommendations to business partners and executive leadership.

Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), system runbooks, and training documentation for junior administrators and operations teams.

Collaborate closely with global engineering, storage, and network teams to align on security and infrastructure initiatives.
