Civil Structural Engineer (CA PE Licensed)- Martinez, CA - Full-Time, On-Site
We\'re hiring a Civil Structural Engineer with a valid California PE license and hands-on expertise in cold-formed / light gauge steel design. You\'ll lead structural design for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings, working closely with architects, developers, and contractors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Active California PE license (required)
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience with a focus on light gauge steel systems
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as RISA, CFS, ETABS, STAAD, or AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of cold-formed steel design, lateral systems, and seismic considerations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Responsibilities:
- Design, analyze, and detail cold-formed steel structures in accordance with California Building Code (CBC), AISI, and ASCE standards
- Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for submittals and permitting
- Stamp and sign structural documents as Engineer of Record for projects within California
- Perform structural modeling using tools such as RISA, CFS, SAP2000, Revit, Telka Structures, and AutoCAD
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration support
- Mentor junior engineers and drafters, providing quality control and technical guidance
- Stay current on industry codes, materials, and best practices specific to light gauge steel systems
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with design-build delivery or coordination with panelized/prefabricated systems
- Familiarity with DSA or OSHPD project requirements
- PE license in additional states
- SE License (Structural Engineer - CA) a plus but not required
