Job Title:- Observability Engineer (Sr. DevOps Engr)

You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of our observability platform, with a primary emphasis on New Relic. Drawing on your expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), you will automate and manage our monitoring and alerting ecosystem to ensure our systems remain reliable, high-performing, and fully transparent. You’ll collaborate closely with Core Services, DevOps, Development, and operations teams to promote proactive monitoring practices and data-informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and scale monitoring capabilities leveraging the New Relic platform, including APM, Infrastructure, Logs, Synthetics, and custom instrumentation using NRQL.
• Develop, manage, and maintain observability configurations, including alerts, dashboards, and synthetic monitoring checks by leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and OpenTofu to ensure consistency, scalability, and reliability.
• Design and enhance meaningful dashboards and actionable alerting policies in New Relic to deliver real-time visibility into application performance and infrastructure health.
• Serve as the observability SME advising teams on effective logging, metrics, and tracing strategies to enhance system reliability and minimize mean time to resolution (MTTR).
• Leverage performance metrics and telemetry data to pinpoint bottlenecks, resolve production incidents, and lead optimization initiatives across the entire technology stack.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering roles, such as Observability, DevOps, SRE, etc.
• Over 3 years of hands-on experience with the New Relic platform, including advanced skills in Dashboards, NRQL, APM, and configuring effective alerting.
• 3+ years of experience designing, managing, and automating infrastructure and configurations with (Iac) tools like Terraform/OpenTofu (preferred), AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Chef or Ansible.
• Significant hands-on experience with leading cloud providers, including AWS (preferred), Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Go, or Bash to develop automation and custom tooling.
• Deep understanding of cloud architectures, networking fundamentals, Windows and Linux server administration, SaaS-based microservices, containerization technologies, (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong knowledge of security best practices and their application within cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, with proven experience operating in highly regulated environments.
• Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
