The Opportunity

As a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff, you will serve as a primary technical pillar for the MK48 Torpedo Systems Group, steering the architecture and innovation of underwater defense systems.
From AI and Quantum Physics to Blockchain and Cloud Native tech, we solve the toughest missions across every domain—from the seabed to interstellar space.
Core Responsibilities
In this high-impact leadership role, you will be the bridge between conceptual requirements and mission-ready hardware. Your day-to-day will involve:
System Architecture: Designing complex hardware systems integrating digital, analog, and mechanical subsystems.
Technical Stewardship: Leading trade studies, design reviews, and proposals for firmware, software, and hardware.
Power & Topology: Evaluating project needs to select and implement optimal topologies for DC/AC and DC/DC applications.
Mentor & Designer: Overseeing board-level circuit integration while mentoring junior engineers through the verification and documentation phases.
Risk Management: Identifying high-level technical risks and articulating mitigation strategies to stakeholders and team members.
Operational Excellence: Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for both legacy products and prototypes to ensure total mission success.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related STEM field).
Experience: 10+ years of relevant industry experience (or a Master’s degree with 8+ years).
Security: U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
Technical Depth: Mastery of semiconductor processors, System-on-Chip (SoC), and FPGA architectures.
Your Technical Toolkit
To thrive in this role, you should bring a blend of hands-on engineering and program leadership:
High-Speed Design: Experience with GHz microprocessors, DDR4, and 5+ Gbps serial links.
Circuitry: Deep knowledge of power electronics, analog/digital design, and debugging using scopes, loads, and probes.
Tooling: Proficiency in OrCAD PSPICE, LT Spice, Mathcad, and Visio.
Program Management: Familiarity with SPI/CPI, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Cost Account Management (CAM) for large-scale programs.
Physical Integration: Ability to oversee mechanical designs that house complex electronic assemblies.
