Hi,

We are currently hiring for the Senior Oracle DBA role (Job ID: HBITS-08-15055) with one of our clients in Schenectady, NY. As a prime vendor to New York State, we support their HBITS (Hourly-Based IT Services) requirements.

Position Details:

• Title: Senior Oracle DBA
• Duration: 30 Months
• Location: Schenectady, NY 12304 (3 days onsite per week)
• Interview Mode: Single round, Virtual

Job Responsibilities:

This individual will be expected to participate in the following activities:

• Assist the Database team with various ongoing tasks, including but not limited to database installation, configuration and hardening, backup validation, performance tuning, and general database monitoring, as well as recommend best practices and procedures.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases on AIX, including backup and recovery.
• Allocating storage and plan future storage requirements for the database system.
• Work with teams of application programmers and system architects to create solutions to meet business goals.
• Perform off-hours (evening or weekend work) as needed for emergency or maintenance tasks.
• Provide support for internal users and external data exchange partners.
• Perform optimization and tuning activities, including capacity planning, tracking historical usage, trending future resource needs, and modifying resource allocations as needed.
• Provide recommendations on technical architecture.
• Provide recommendations on Oracle Advanced Security, including TDE, Oracle Wallet, and remote authentication.
• Provide hands-on training and mentoring for other database administrative staff.
• Provide support to Application Development staff. Perform root cause analysis and recommend remediation for issues that arise.
• Handle Requests and Incidents submitted through ITSM tickets.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 84 months of experience as an Oracle DBA in an AIX/Unix environment. This experience includes database implementations, upgrades, conversions and consolidations, database compliance, security, and auditing, including Oracle Advanced Security, remote authentication, and Oracle Wallet configuration.
• 60 months of experience installing/maintaining/tuning databases that support OBIEE and Oracle Business Intelligence Application software.
• 84 months of experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC), Oracle Automatic Storage Management (Oracle ASM), Oracle Automatic Storage Management Cluster File System, Oracle Data Guard and Oracle Database Security.
• 84 months of experience with Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN). This experience includes Backup and Repository Configuration & Maintenance as well as Implementation of RMAN Backup & Recovery using Commvault.
• 84 months of experience installing, upgrading, patching, and using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) to monitor and analyze database issues and find solutions to correct the problems.
• 24 months of experience maintaining Oracle databases on AIX that support SAP Business Object Info View, and applications that use Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports.
