Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Security Engineering Lead to support an enterprise cybersecurity program delivering 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) services. This role serves as the technical lead for SOC security engineering and modernization efforts, including the integration and sustainment of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and IDS/IPS platforms across enterprise environments.

Responsibilities include:
  • Engineer, integrate, and maintain SOC tools and platforms, ensuring effective configuration management and performance optimization
  • Lead integration and sustainment of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and IDS/IPS technologies across enterprise environments
  • Advance Zero Trust principles across cloud and on-premises environments
  • Expand automation capabilities to improve efficiency and coverage across security operations
  • Enhance telemetry coverage to improve visibility across enterprise systems
  • Assess and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance security capabilities
  • Develop technical reports and implementation plans to support modernization initiatives
  • Support continuous improvement of enterprise security architecture and engineering practices

Here's what you need (Required Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in security administration systems and support
  • A+, Security+, or Network+ certification
  • Strong working knowledge of security services, networking, security policy, and consulting
  • Experience installing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network security solutions and related monitoring tools
  • Experience supporting L2/L3 network devices, Network Admission Control (NAC), and 802.1x
  • Experience working with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN solutions, web application firewalls, content filtering, and NetFlow analysis
  • Advanced working knowledge of encryption algorithms and secure communications
  • Strong understanding of SIEM technologies and embedded systems security
  • Advanced knowledge of network and data communication protocols
  • Familiarity with NIST, FISMA, and Common Criteria regulations and standards
  • Experience with network-based IDS/IPS technologies and modes of operation
  • Experience evaluating new technologies and processes to enhance security capabilities
  • Experience testing security solutions using industry-standard analysis criteria
  • Experience delivering technical reports and formal documentation on test findings
  • Experience responding to information security issues across the project lifecycle

Bonus Points If You Have (Desired Qualifications):
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems
  • Ability to learn and support new systems and applications
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple concurrent tasks effectively

Security Clearance:
  • Active Secret (TS eligible desired)

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree

Work Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday, Hybrid
