The Role
The Business Development Manager Data Center Services is responsible for driving growth of HCLTech s end-to-end data center services portfolio across global markets. This role focuses on identifying and qualifying opportunities across greenfield builds, brownfield upgrades, capacity expansions, and AI-ready modernization programs. Acting as the bridge between customer requirements and technical delivery teams, the BDM converts complex MEP, power, cooling, cabling, and sustainability needs into commercially viable, win-ready proposals.
The role requires deep engagement with enterprise and hyperscale customers, leading early discovery conversations, shaping solution narratives, and orchestrating internal and partner ecosystems to craft differentiated bids. The BDM owns the opportunity lifecycle from pursuit to closure, including partner strategy, commercials, negotiation, and contracting.
Success in this role depends on techno-commercial acumen: the ability to understand engineering detail while positioning business value, TCO, scalability, and sustainability benefits. The BDM works closely with engineering, PMO, OEMs, and construction partners to ensure proposed solutions are executable, compliant, and competitive.
This is a growth and hunting role, targeting large multi-tower DC build and modernization deals, and contributing directly to pipeline creation, bookings, and strategic account expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proven experience selling large DC build programs.
- Understanding of AI data center infrastructure, including power density, cooling architectures, and scalability challenges.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue DC build and modernization opportunities across regions and industry verticals.
- Lead customer discovery discussions on MEP, power, cooling, modular builds, and sustainability.
- Shape end-to-end solutions spanning strategy, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to create winning proposals and value propositions.
- Build and manage OEM/partner ecosystem for joint pursuits.
- Own commercials, pricing strategy, and deal structuring.
- Lead RFP/RFI responses and customer presentations.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals.
- Maintain healthy qualified pipeline aligned to revenue targets.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor s degree in engineering or related field; MBA preferred.
- 12+ years in enterprise B2B sales or business development in data centers or critical infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of DC power, cooling, Data Center Infrastructure .
- Proven experience in large, multi-partner pursuits and negotiations.

- Strong techno-commercial and partner orchestration skills mandatory.

- High degree of autonomy and accountability for regional and global growth targets.
