Job Details
We are seeking a District Sales Manager to oversee and grow a Northern California territory for a leading manufacturer of highly engineered commercial and industrial solutions. This is a remote, field-based role responsible for managing existing customer relationships while driving new business development across a diverse customer base.
The District Sales Manager will be responsible for executing a consultative sales strategy focused on identifying customer needs, delivering value-driven solutions, and expanding market share throughout the assigned region. The territory includes a mix of established accounts and new business opportunities, requiring a balance of account management, business development, and strategic territory planning.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with distributors, contractors, facility managers, engineers, end users, and other key decision-makers. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them evaluate solutions, improve operational performance, and achieve their business objectives through the organization's products and services.
This individual will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle, including prospecting, customer meetings, product demonstrations, proposal development, pricing discussions, contract negotiations, forecasting, and ongoing account support. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams including technical support, operations, customer service, marketing, and leadership to ensure a seamless customer experience and successful project execution.
Additional responsibilities include analyzing territory performance, identifying growth opportunities, monitoring competitive activity, maintaining accurate CRM data, developing account growth plans, and providing market intelligence to leadership. The District Sales Manager will also represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer-facing meetings throughout the region.
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of success in business-to-business sales, preferably within industrial, manufacturing, building products, HVAC, mechanical systems, distribution, facility services, environmental solutions, or other technical product environments. Experience selling through distribution channels, managing contractor relationships, and navigating complex sales cycles is highly valued.
Successful candidates are self-motivated, relationship-oriented sales professionals who thrive in an autonomous territory management role. They possess strong communication and presentation skills, are comfortable discussing technical concepts with a variety of stakeholders, and have demonstrated success driving revenue growth while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Candidates should reside within the Sacramento region, Bay Area, or Central Valley and be comfortable traveling throughout Northern California to support customers and business development initiatives.
