Location: Austin, TX (Onsite 100%)
Job Type: Contract

Candidate Requirement: Local Texas candidates only. Candidates must currently reside in Texas. Relocation candidates will not be considered.


Job Summary

The QA/Test Manager 3 will lead the overall testing strategy, planning, execution, and governance for a large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) SaaS implementation.

The role is responsible for quality assurance leadership, resource planning, test management, defect resolution, data migration validation, ETL testing, functional and integration testing, UAT support, vendor coordination, and stakeholder reporting.

The QA Lead will work independently while collaborating with program leadership, IT teams, vendors, and business users to ensure the solution meets functional, clinical, data integrity, security, privacy, regulatory, and project requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead overall QA strategy, planning, execution, and governance for the EHR SaaS implementation.
  • Develop and maintain QA plans, testing approaches, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Serve as the primary QA contact for leadership, IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Report testing status, risks, metrics, and defects to project stakeholders.
  • Manage defect tracking, prioritization, resolution, retesting, and validation.
  • Lead data migration and conversion validation from legacy EHR and ancillary systems.
  • Validate patient, clinical, pharmacy, billing, and historical records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review ETL processes, data mapping, validation rules, and reconciliation reports.
  • Conduct pre-load/post-load validation, record counts, field-level verification, and exception analysis.
  • Coordinate testing of interfaces, inbound/outbound data feeds, and downstream reporting.
  • Lead functional testing across EHR modules including clinical, scheduling, orders, medications, documentation, and billing.
  • Validate end-to-end workflows across clinical and administrative user roles.
  • Lead system, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
  • Ensure SaaS configuration changes and vendor releases are fully tested.
  • Partner with business and clinical SMEs to develop UAT scenarios and test cases.
  • Maintain test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and test evidence.
  • Track testing activities using Azure DevOps, ALM, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Support manual and automated testing approaches where applicable.
  • Ensure testing documentation meets audit, compliance, and project delivery standards.


Required Qualifications

  • 11+ years of experience in QA/Test Lead or QA/Test Manager roles.
  • 11+ years of hands-on experience with data validation, data migration, and ETL testing.
  • 11+ years of experience leading functional testing across EHR modules, including clinical, scheduling, orders, medications, documentation, and billing.
  • 11+ years of experience validating data migration and conversion from legacy EHR and ancillary systems.
  • 11+ years of experience testing SaaS configuration changes and vendor releases.
  • 11+ years of experience coordinating testing of interfaces, inbound/outbound data feeds, and downstream reporting.
  • 11+ years of experience creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and test evidence.
  • 11+ years of experience coordinating testing activities with vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • 11+ years of experience with test management tools such as Azure DevOps, ALM, or Jira.
  • 11+ years of experience working in Agile and/or hybrid delivery environments.


Preferred Experience

  • 8+ years of experience with EHR implementations, including clinical, pharmacy, and billing workflows.
  • 6+ years of knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD/A, ICD, and CPT, as applicable.
  • 6+ years of understanding of HIPAA, privacy, security, and government healthcare compliance requirements.
  • 6+ years of experience supporting state or public sector healthcare systems.
