Summary

STV currently has an opening in our Franklin, TN office for a Structural Engineering Specialist. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and designers on multiple projects for the Transportation department. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

Participate in a variety of planning, design, and construction projects.
Assist in developing technical design reports, calculations, and memos.
Use software to design structural elements such as bridges and retaining walls.
Develop construction documents, including technical drawings and specifications.
Participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders and develop content for these meetings.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
A basic understanding of structural engineering fundamentals.
Familiarity with civil and structural design software.
A strong desire to work with and help clients, public stakeholders, and fellow team members.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
A desire to work on large multidisciplinary projects with fast-paced schedules, which require creative thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license.

Other positive attributes:

An engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.
Experience using MicroStation and/or OpenBridge.

Compensation Range:
$68,451.28 - $78,230.03
