JOB SUMMARY
This is an internal job opportunity exclusive to

current employees of Wiliamson County
Reporting directly to an assigned IT Manager or Director, responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining reliable operation of countywide and/or critical technology systems or applications. Level II of III in System Administrators.

* Funding for this position will be effective October 1, 2026
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

  • Configures, administers, and maintains designated system or application to support end users' needs
  • Manages configurations, processes, and systems of designated technology infrastructure
  • Assigns rights and roles for software applications
  • Tracks system bugs, reporting issues, and resolutions
  • Provides customized supporting tools for end users (i.e. reports, forms, workflows, reports, etc.)
  • Performs regular testing and auditing of designated systems, software, and procedures
  • Provides advanced technical consulting and support services as needed
  • Designs and delivers training programs
  • Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
  • Performs special duties as assigned

Specialized Assignment (in addition to the duties above):
Public Safety
  • Manages applications used by first responders in Williamson County and participating agencies
  • Manages hardware and software systems related to Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, and Emergency Management such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)
  • Manages projects related to public safety technologies
  • Participates in a rotating after hours on-call schedule

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
  • Reports directly to - IT Manager or Director
  • Direct Reports - No

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carrying

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
  • Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
  • Regular travel between work sites as required

IRREGULAR HOURS
  • Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday - Friday) may be required
  • May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
  • Regular attendance is required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vocational/technical diploma or certificate and three (3) years of job-related experience; OR four (4) years of job-related experience
  • Working knowledge of specific job-related technology

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required within thirty (30) days of employment

  • Valid driver's license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Working knowledge in all areas of technology software, hardware, data, methodologies, frameworks, and infrastructure
  • Technology certification in area of responsibility
