Job Description

The organization is seeking hands-on Senior Knowledge Graph & AI Engineers to rapidly design and deliver an enterprise-grade Knowledge Graph platform enhanced with AI and LLM capabilities. This role focuses on building a scalable, compliant graph-based intelligence layer that enables advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and conversational access to complex enterprise data.
This role requires Senior-level technologists who can quickly onboard, explore data independently, and deliver high-impact solutions in an agile, iterative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Knowledge Graph Architecture & Development

• Architect, design, and build Neo4j-based Knowledge Graphs supporting complex enterprise domains
• Define and implement ontologies, semantic models, and graph schemas
• Ingest, model, and connect large, complex datasets into cohesive graph structures
• Optimize graph performance through indexing strategies, relationship design, and query tuning
• Ensure data correctness, lineage, traceability, and compliance through metadata-driven design

AI / Machine Learning & LLM Enablement

• Design and integrate LLM-powered assistants and AI workflows on top of the Knowledge Graph
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) using graph-based context
• Contribute to or design ML models that leverage graph data for inference and insights
• Perform prompt engineering and domain optimization for enterprise AI use cases
• Ensure AI/ML solutions align with enterprise governance, security, and compliance standards

Backend Systems & Data Engineering

• Build backend services that interface with Knowledge Graphs, AI systems, and user-facing applications
• Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines for graph ingestion and transformation
• Implement logging, monitoring, and metadata frameworks to support observability and governance
• Support scalable, production-grade deployments of graph and AI platforms

Domain Modeling & Semantic Interpretation

• Rapidly understand complex enterprise data domains and translate them into accurate graph representations
• Design relationships and semantic layers that enable meaningful AI reasoning and analytics
• Collaborate with stakeholders to validate models, assumptions, and domain logic

Agile Delivery & Execution

• Deliver visible progress in short, iterative development cycles
• Participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, and technical refinement
• Own work end-to-end, from concept and design through implementation and validation
• Proactively identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities without being prompted

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Mettawa, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $90.00/hr.
