Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. is recruiting for an Staff Engineer, located in Jacksonville, FL.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifies, plans and executes complex change control projects requiring conceptual evaluation, design and validation.
  • Identifies, plans and executes complex qualification of new equipment/controls and assists in vendor and site acceptance testing to meet engineering standards.
  • Identifies and implements standard methodologies of project management.
  • Participates in technical design reviews for machine requirements and manufacturing/product specifications.
  • Performs concept analysis of capital projects for future project development.
  • Provides training and support to Operations Engineers and Technicians to operate, troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
  • Identification and resolution of Corrective/Preventative actions to address Quality, Technical, and Manufacturing issues (Audit Actions, NCR's, CAPA's, etc).
  • Utilizes cross functional collaboration with safety, quality, and operations to meet business objectives.
  • Provides mentoring and technical guidance to interns and/or co-ops.
  • Displays technical depth and influence within functional team.
  • Serves as a change agent by creating a learning culture and experimental mindset within the department and organization to improve business performance.
  • Analyze production, yield, scrap, and downtime data
  • Apply statistical methods to identify trends, variation, and root causes
  • Build dashboards and reports for KPIs (e.g., OEE, cycle time, defect rates)
  • Use data tools (SQL, Excel, BI platforms, Tableau) to generate insights
  • Pull data from Manufacturing systems (MES / SAP / LIMS / eDHR / historians)
  • Ensure data integrity and governance
  • Identify and quantify process improvement opportunities
  • Support continuous improvement / Lean / Six Sigma initiatives
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on manufacturing issues
  • Develop data-driven recommendations to improve throughput and quality
  • Translate data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

Education:

University/Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent

Experience and Skills:

Required:
  • 4 to 6 years of experience

Preferred:
  • Operations experience in manufacturing, production supervision, front-line leading
  • Experience working with vendors to select, source, quote, and procure off the shelf and custom designed components.
  • Experience working in an ISO and FDA regulated environment.
