Role: AI Content Specialist — Fashion & E-Commerce
Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Duration : Long term (Travel to Costa Mesa, CA)
Job Description:
EMIDS is partnering with a global apparel and footwear company to replace its agency-dependent content production model with an AI-native pipeline — eliminating studio photography, manual retouching, sequential creative approvals, and six-figure agency retainers in favor of AI-generated imagery, video, and copy produced at a fraction of the cost and time.
This is not a creative director role and it is not a prompt engineering role. The AI Content Specialist is a practitioner who has already made this transition work in a commercial setting — someone who has replaced real photo shoots with AI-generated imagery, knows which tools produce production-quality output versus impressive demos, and can build and operate an end-to-end content pipeline that feeds directly into an e-commerce platform.
VF Corp spends over $500M annually on content across its brand portfolio. 23% of its total marketing budget goes to non-working spend — production costs rather than paid media. You are being hired to collapse that cost structure for a single category pilot, document the process, and prove it can scale.
What You Will Do:-
• Design and operate an AI content production pipeline for the pilot category — from product design input to shelf-ready e-commerce imagery, campaign creative, and social content
• Deploy and operate AI imagery tools (Botika, Lalaland.ai, Zmo.ai, or equivalent) to produce on-model and styled product visuals without physical photo shoots
• Work with the client’s AI-native marketing lead to align content outputs with brand standards and campaign requirements
• Produce content variants for A/B testing — target is 48-hour test cycles versus months-long locked-in studio commitments
• Manage the DAM ingest workflow — AI tagging, quality review, and asset organisation so content is findable and deployable immediately upon production
• Generate copy and localisation outputs using LLM tools — product descriptions, social captions, campaign copy — across the languages required for the pilot markets
• Document the full content production workflow so it is repeatable by the client team after the pilot concludes
What You Need:-
• Demonstrated experience replacing or significantly reducing traditional studio photography with AI-generated imagery in a commercial context — you must be able to describe a specific project, the tools used, the output quality achieved, and the cost or time savings delivered
• Production-level proficiency with at least two AI imagery tools — Botika, Lalaland.ai, Zmo.ai, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, or equivalent; you know which tools handle apparel well and which produce consistent on-model results across a large SKU catalogue
• Understanding of e-commerce content requirements — image specifications, background standards, model pose conventions, zoom and detail shot requirements
• Experience with DAM platforms and content workflow orchestration at scale
• LLM proficiency for copy generation — product descriptions, brand tone adaptation, and multi-language localisation outputs
• Comfort working at the speed the pilot demands — content for five products across multiple formats and variants, produced in days not weeks
What You Do Not Need:-
• A background in traditional creative agency production — the entire point of this role is to replace that model
• Photography, videography, or retouching skills — you are operating AI pipelines, not behind a camera
• Fashion industry experience — an understanding of what good product content looks like is required; knowing how it was traditionally made is not
Nice to Have:-
• Experience producing content for TikTok Shop or Instagram Shopping formats
• Familiarity with AI video generation tools — Runway, Pika, or equivalent
• Experience with brand guideline enforcement at scale — the target is 90%+ auto-QA approval rate
Location & Commitment:-
Remote-first with travel to Costa Mesa, CA for key sprint milestones. Highly responsive during the pilot sprint given the 48-hour content cycle targets. Full-time commitment for the duration of the pilot.
