Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain SQL Server (2017 2025) databases ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Manage on-prem and Azure SQL environments (Azure VMs, Managed Instances, Azure SQL DB).
- Perform installations, upgrades, migrations, and environment management.
- Monitor and tune performance using Spotlight, Splunk, Perfmon, SSMS, DMVs.
- Implement backup/recovery, security, and compliance best practices.
- Administer MongoDB environments.
- Automate tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell.
- Support DevOps & CI/CD using Bitbucket, Liquibase, Jenkins.
- Develop and maintain SSIS ETL packages and support SSRS.
- Follow Change Management processes and provide 24/7 on-call support.
- Collaborate with DevOps/development teams and mentor junior staff.
Required Qualifications
- 5 7+ years as SQL Server DBA in on-prem and cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in Azure SQL and high-availability solutions (AlwaysOn, clustering, replication).
- Experience managing multi-terabyte production databases.
- Proficiency in T-SQL, PowerShell, SSIS, SSRS, and monitoring tools.
- Working knowledge of MongoDB and Change Management frameworks.
- Bachelor s degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills
- Microsoft Azure DBA or MCSE certification.
- ITIL knowledge and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep/ARM).
- DevOps tools: Bitbucket, Liquibase, Jenkins, Ansible.
- Exposure to Kubernetes, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and data warehousing/cloud platforms.
