Configuration Management / Release Management / DevOps Tools

We are looking for a Configuration Management Analyst / Configuration Analyst with strong experience in software configuration management, release management, build automation, engineering tools, and SDLC processes.

This is a strong fit for professionals coming from Configuration Management, Software Configuration Management (SCM), Release Engineering, Build Engineering, Release Management, DevOps, or Engineering Tools environments.

You will work with software development and technical teams to manage configuration-controlled environments, automate software builds and releases, administer engineering tools, and improve development and testing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support software configuration management and release management processes.

  • Maintain configuration-controlled development, test, and production environments.

  • Support software builds, releases, deployments, and test automation.

  • Track and maintain configuration and change status across software environments.

  • Automate build, test, deployment, and release processes.

  • Administer, customize, configure, and support engineering and software development tools.

  • Develop and maintain engineering utilities, scripts, and automation.

  • Work with developers, testers, infrastructure teams, and technical stakeholders throughout the SDLC.

  • Support requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.

  • Troubleshoot issues involving development tools, builds, deployments, configurations, and application environments.

  • Create and maintain technical procedures, configuration documentation, process documentation, and tool documentation.

  • Identify weaknesses in development and release workflows and implement process improvements.

  • Support new infrastructure and software development technology initiatives.

  • Provide production support for engineering tools and utilities.

  • Assist technical teams with adoption and effective use of engineering tools.

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of professional experience in business/technical analysis, application development, configuration management, software development, or related technical environments.

  • Experience analyzing business and technical processes and identifying improvement opportunities.

  • Experience with system configuration and configuration design.

  • Experience preparing detailed technical or business specifications.

  • Experience with application design and development.

  • Experience estimating technical effort and schedules.

  • Experience working with cross-functional development, testing, infrastructure, and technical teams.

  • Experience across multiple phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Ability to independently manage multiple technical assignments.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Location / Work Arrangement

Albany, NY candidates are preferred.

Candidates outside the Albany area may be considered if they can meet the following onsite requirements:

  • 2–4 days onsite initially for training

  • After initial training, 2 days onsite per quarter

  • Travel and lodging expenses are not included.

Work Authorization

  • Must be able to work on W2
