As an on-site AMERICAN SYSTEMS Lead Network Engineer, you'll take a hands-on leadership role ensuring secure, reliable network operations supporting U.S. Government customers. You'll serve as a technical authority, guiding network design, troubleshooting complex issues, and maintaining mission-critical connectivity in classified environments.

Responsibilities

As a Lead Network Engineer, you will:
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to protect data and control access to classified networks.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Diagnose and resolve Layer 2/Layer 3, VPN, and VMware network issues.
  • Coordinate on-site and remotely with users to configure equipment and troubleshoot connectivity.
  • Recommend performance and security enhancements that improve reliability and reduce costs.
  • Interface with senior management and vendor technical teams on network solutions.
  • Work independently or lead small technical efforts with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

What You Bring:
  • U.S. Citizenship (required)
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree (or 6 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
  • 8-10 years of professional networking experience
  • DoD 8140 IAT II-level certification (e.g., Security+ or equivalent)
  • Expertise in Cisco ISE configuration and troubleshooting, routing/switching, and firewall administration
  • Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols and network design principles
  • Certifications such as CCNP or CCIE are highly preferred
