Seeking a System Administrator to help with a Domain Migration project.
Role Overview: seeking an individual with strong Windows expertise to assist his team with a critical domain migration project. This role will primarily focus on hands-on system migrations and troubleshooting in GLP labs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide an extra set of hands throughout the domain migration process.
Troubleshoot Windows 10/11, Active Directory, DNS, and TCP/IP issues that arise during migration.
Perform active system migrations at the PC level within GLP labs.
Participate in testing migrations and identifying potential issues.
Assist with post-migration "housekeeping" tasks like cleaning file shares and moving data.
Potentially support other sites virtually and assist with non-GLP systems.
If skilled, help refine or write PowerShell/batch scripts for data movement.
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong expertise in Windows 10/11.
Familiarity with Active Directory services.
In-depth knowledge of networking, including DNS and TCP/IP.
Regulatory experience (e.g., GLP, banking, pharma, hospital) to understand documentation and change control requirements.
PowerShell or batch scripting skills are beneficial.
Work Environment & Schedule:
100% on-site role, primarily in labs
Standard 40 hours/week, with potential for overtime during the peak migration period (May-June).
Flexible hours between 6 AM and 6 PM, though migration weeks may require earlier starts (7-8 AM).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Workstation Readiness: Prepare and configure Windows 10/11 workstations and laboratory-specific applications for domain migration.
Network Configuration: Manage and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP settings to ensure seamless handoffs between domain controllers and proper name resolution.
Encryption Management: Manage BitLocker recovery keys and BIOS-level configurations to prevent lockout during boot-level changes.
Regulatory Adherence: Implement and maintain data integrity protocols in strict accordance with GLP standards.
System Validation: Coordinate closely with the Validation team to ensure that all migrated systems remain in a "validated state" post-transition.
User Training: Provide "White Glove" support to non-technical staff, explaining technical changes clearly and with patience.
Issue Escalation: Record and report migration roadblocks to the LOTS team and project leadership to ensure rapid resolution
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
OS Expertise: Proven track record supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 in an enterprise environment.
Directory Services: Strong functional knowledge of Active Directory, GPO application, and Organizational Unit (OU) structures.
Networking: Deep understanding of TCP/IP stacks and how they interact with Domain Controllers.
Problem Solving: High-level analytical skills with extreme attention to detail, specifically regarding security permissions.
Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between complex IT requirements and laboratory business needs.
Reliability: Ability to follow strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) without deviation.
Preferred Qualifications\Experience
Automation: Ability to run and modify basic scripts (PowerShell/Batch) to automate repetitive tasks like machine renaming or OU movements.
Regulated Environments: Prior experience working in GLP, GMP, or other highly regulated laboratory settings.
Identity Management: Familiarity with the impact of SID history and credential caching during cross-forest or cross-domain migrations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
