Summary

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer to design, implement, automate, and support scalable infrastructure and platform services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps practices, Microsoft 365 integrations, scripting, server administration, migrations, networking, storage, virtualization, and infrastructure automation.

This role will work closely with development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to improve platform reliability, deployment efficiency, system performance, and operational automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, administer, and maintain enterprise infrastructure and platform environments.
  • Develop and implement DevOps practices that improve deployment speed, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and routine administrative tasks.
  • Manage physical and virtual servers, operating systems, hardware, storage systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Plan and execute server migrations, data migrations, and NAS migrations with minimal business disruption.
  • Support virtualization platforms, virtual machines, clusters, resource allocation, and high-availability configurations.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform.
  • Implement configuration management and automation using Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or comparable technologies.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell scripting and Python.
  • Integrate Microsoft 365 services and applications with enterprise platforms and business systems.
  • Support Microsoft 365 administration and integration activities involving services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Microsoft Graph, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network services, including:
    • DNS
    • IP addressing and subnetting
    • Routing and switching
    • VPN
    • Firewalls
    • Load balancing
    • Network security and access controls
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement secure infrastructure, identity, access, and configuration standards.
  • Monitor system health, performance, capacity, availability, and security.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, platform, networking, storage, and deployment issues.
  • Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, migration plans, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in incident response, problem management, change management, and disaster-recovery activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve platform resilience, standardization, cost efficiency, and automation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to infrastructure, operations, and development teams.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or systems administration.
  • Strong background in server administration, including installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with server migrations, infrastructure migrations, and NAS or storage migrations.
  • Experience managing hardware, networking equipment, storage systems, and virtualization platforms.
  • Proficiency in Shell scripting and Python for automation and system administration.
  • Practical experience with DevOps tools and practices, including:
    • Azure DevOps
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • Terraform
    • Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
    • Infrastructure as Code
    • Configuration management
    • Automated testing and deployment
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols.
  • Knowledge of DNS, IP addressing, subnetting, VPNs, firewalls, routing, switching, and load balancing.
  • Experience integrating or administering Microsoft 365 services and enterprise applications.
  • Understanding of identity and access management, including Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, operating systems, networks, storage, virtualization, and application platforms.
  • Experience working with version-control systems such as Git.
  • Strong documentation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
