Job Title: Cloud Support Engineer / Cloud Engineer
Location: Jackson, MS (Onsite)
Duration: Contract
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to support and maintain enterprise cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, along with strong troubleshooting, automation, and infrastructure support capabilities. This role is fully onsite in Jackson, MS.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, manage, and support cloud-based infrastructure and services
- Monitor system performance and ensure availability, reliability, and scalability
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in cloud environments
- Support identity and access management, networking, and security configurations
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud initiatives
- Maintain documentation for cloud architecture, processes, and procedures
- Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-6+ years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
- Strong understanding of cloud components: compute, storage, networking, and IAM
- Experience with scripting/automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, routing, firewalls)
- Understanding of security principles including access control and data protection
- Experience troubleshooting and supporting cloud systems in enterprise environments
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
- Familiarity with hybrid environments integrating on-premises and cloud systems
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST or IRS Publication 1075
- Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and performance tools
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery in cloud environments
- Exposure to DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines
- Strong documentation and communication skills
