Position Purpose:

The primary role of the Sr Developer II position is to collaborate and mentor within a small team of developers and business analysts and to deliver and provide oversight to development projects for custom business applications and reports. This role will work directly with business stakeholders, IT management, and other developers to guide projects to completion, provide ideas for technology and process improvements, and deliver well-documented solutions that accommodate stakeholder and business process needs while ensuring that department and coding processes are followed.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Mentor other developers to assist the team with tasks like, but not limited to, best practices, troubleshooting, estimation, testing and documentation
  • Develop large scale enterprise solutions with high complexity
  • Oversee development of design documents such as technical specifications, functional requirements, object modules, system test plans, technical and user documentation
  • Work with other developers, project managers, architects, business analysts and other departments to develop new technology and expand into existing applications
  • Research and propose new technologies and methodologies to improve development
  • Lead Team Code Reviews
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

7 - 10 years of related experience

Extensive IBM iSeries platform knowledge. Fluent in RPG and SQLRPG, with ability to work in RPG Free

iSeries SQL knowledge

Able to work with users to translate what is requested into what is needed then design and develop solutions to meet those needs.

Experience using Turnover or similar change management tools for proper source control

Experience in data conversions (Flat files, CSV, Excel) to IBM i

Self-starter who is able to work independently and
meet deliverables with minimum direct supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors: Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

Foodservice, or other distribution experience
