πΉ Role Overview
Looking for an experienced engineer to design, develop, and integrate software for next-generation optical network elements, Optical Line Systems, optical pluggables, and coherent optical systems.
The role involves embedded software, Device/Hardware Abstraction Layers, hardware interfaces, optical line-system control, pluggable management, telemetry, management-plane interfaces, and optical-domain software integration.
πΉ Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop embedded/system software using C/C++; C is key for OLS software development
β’ MATLAB exposure for modeling/analysis is an advantage
β’ Build DAL/HAL components for I2C, SPI, MDIO, EEPROM, sensors, pluggables, and optical components
β’ Develop EDFA/Raman amplifier control, gain control, APC, A power balancing, alarms, safety shutdown, and protection logic
β’ Support ROADM, WSS, DWDM, spectrum allocation, path computation, flexgrid provisioning, and real-time reconfiguration
β’ Develop optical pluggable software for CMIS/SFF, DDM/DOM, module state handling, firmware upgrades, and power-class management
β’ Support optical topology modeling, impairment-aware routing, and optical power management
β’ Work with coherent optical technologies including QPSK, DP-QPSK, BPSK, QAM, BER, FEC, baud rate, and spectral efficiency
β’ Validate optical performance using lab equipment such as Optical Spectrum Analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, VOAs, optical switches, wave shapers, tunable lasers, and traffic generators
