Job Title: Senior Platform Developer (TED/PE)

Position Overview:
The Senior Platform Developer will play a key role in the analysis, design, development, and maintenance of mission-critical enterprise applications built on Mainframe technologies. This role demands deep technical expertise in TELON, COBOL, IMS DB/DC, JCL, MicroFocus, and EZTrieve, along with the ability to ensure system reliability, data integrity, and performance optimization across both batch and online environments.
The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to Third-Party Electronic Databases and Provider Enrollment Systems, combined with a solid understanding of data handling, data warehouses, and interface file management using SQL and Informatica. This position requires a technically strong, analytical, and detail-oriented professional capable of working in a collaborative, fast-paced, and compliance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design, code, test, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, TELON, IMS DB/DC, JCL, MicroFocus, and EZTrieve.
- Develop and enhance batch and online processing programs to support high-volume transaction systems and data workflows.
- Conduct impact analysis, debugging, and performance tuning for mainframe modules to ensure optimal system behavior.
- Manage and optimize data files, transactions, and interfaces with other enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, and data teams to integrate Mainframe systems with Third-Party Electronic Databases and Provider Enrollment Systems.
- Develop and maintain SQL interface files, ensuring accuracy in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Contribute to data warehousing and Informatica-based integration efforts for modernization and reporting initiatives.
- Participate in code reviews, adhere to organizational coding standards, and maintain detailed technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining business continuity.
- Support migration, conversion, and modernization initiatives as part of enterprise transformation programs.
Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in Mainframe technologies: TELON, COBOL, IMS DB/DC, JCL, MicroFocus, and EZTrieve.
- Strong understanding of Mainframe data management, transaction processing, and job control systems.
- Working knowledge of Third-Party Electronic Databases, Provider Enrollment Systems, and federal/state data platforms.
- Experience with SQL interface files, Informatica ETL tools, and data warehousing frameworks.
- Ability to analyze complex data structures and design optimized workflows for performance and scalability.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with an ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application development and maintenance.
- Experience in enterprise data integration, legacy system modernization, or healthcare provider systems.
- Familiarity with federal and state government project environments, compliance standards, and audit documentation.
- Exposure to Agile or SAFe development methodologies.
