Job Title: Research Engineer

Location: Hodges, SC

Duration: 10 months

Shift: 1st Shift, 6:00am to 2:30pm

Onsite Work

Education & Experience Required

Years of experience: 5 years of relevant experience
Degree requirement: Associate or Bachelor's
Internships accepted as job experience: No

Required Skills:

Tools quotation
Casting scrap defects analysis & resolution
Foundry process knowledge (no-bake process, cold box process)
Pattern and core boxes
Complex modeling
Intuitive knowledge of parting lines (P/L), offsets, clearances, layout in tool build
No-bake process and cold box process
Using SolidCast and Creo Modeling & Flow Simulation Analysis
Strong CAD skills (Creo preferred)
Machining print reading and geometric tolerance (GD&T) understanding
Casting simulation experience (SolidCast preferred)

Desired:

CNC milling knowledge

Job Responsibilities

Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems
Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions
Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project
Review and approve database development and determine project scope and limitations
Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems
Implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure
Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information
Able to work with and direct suppliers on tooling build projects

Required Soft Skills

Communicate and work well with all levels of the facility

No foundry experience
No tool design experience with CAD
