Job Description:
Apex Systems is seeking an In-House Construction Project Manager to support our client's expanding health system. This individual will oversee renovations, additions, upgrades, and equipment installations across hospitals, medical school facilities, outpatient centers, and clinical environments. The Project Manager will manage projects from concept through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Management
Manage renovation, tenant fit-out, and capital renewal projects (typically up to $1M+).
Coordinate all phases of project delivery including design, budgeting, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
Maintain project schedules, logistics planning, and stakeholder communication.
Ensure work aligns with health system standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
Partner with internal departments such as Architecture/Planning, Finance, Engineering/Operations, and Clinical Engineering.
Project Initiation & Design
Meet with end users to review program requirements and define scope.
Develop milestone schedules and project deliverables.
Review design documents and ensure alignment with infrastructure and client needs.
Support internal and external design reviews; identify risks and necessary scope adjustments.
Budget & Financial Oversight
Establish, track, and maintain project budgets.
Prepare cash-flow projections and financial reports.
Review and approve invoices, change events, and change orders.
Manage contingency funds and maintain budget forecasting accuracy.
Construction & Field Oversight
Oversee project logistics, outages, and site access coordination.
Monitor construction quality, compliance, and adherence to safety standards.
Manage commissioning, inspections, and corrective action processes.
Track construction milestones and validate contractor deliverables.
Required Education
Associate degree in Construction Management or related field
Equivalent technical training/experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry trades.
Required Experience
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in:
Skilled trades or technical construction
Supervisory roles
Project management
Construction field supervision
Scheduling and inspections
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of construction methods, design, engineering, and multi-trade coordination.
Familiarity with NFPA 101, BOCA codes, JCAHO regulations, and local/state/national building codes.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
Proficient with project management software and typical office applications (Word, Excel, databases, work-order systems).
Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management abilities.
