Position Summary

The Senior Member Technical Staff, Cloud Network Engineer serves as a global Subject Matter Expert for wireless technology and infusion pump product offerings, ensuring the seamless operation of critical medical device infrastructure. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining secure, scalable AWS cloud solutions and high-performance network resources across global data centers and R&D sites. By collaborating with DevOps and engineering teams, the candidate will manage enterprise-grade wireless environments, complex 802.1x authentication protocols, and robust network security to ensure high availability and compliance. Ultimately, this position drives technical excellence through proactive troubleshooting, cost-conscious resource management, and dedicated support for life-critical medical data systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for ICU Medical's Wireless technology and infusion pump product offerings.
  • Support the design, deployment, and ongoing operation of secure, scalable cloud solutions within Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role focuses on maintaining and improving cloud infrastructure that supports Medical Device and Medical Device Data products.
  • Collaborate with Medical Device and Platform Engineers to support infrastructure services within AWS.
  • Demonstrate ownership of network resources around the world and work with partners to develop strategies to support and refresh them as required.
  • Oversee the day-to-day network operations at Data Center locations and provide internal network support to the Research and Development (R&D) groups and Service Center teams globally.
  • Participate in after-hours customer support, which includes an on-call rotation program, weekend maintenances, and other IT related activities.
  • Advanced knowledge of the 802.11 standards and identify what channels are available for use and common sources of wireless interference.
  • Install, configure and maintain Cisco Catalyst network routers and switches using TCP and IPv4 protocols.
  • Capture both wired and over-the-air wireless network traffic and analyze said traffic using common network tools such as Wireshark.
  • Proven experience with network firewalls, site-site VPN tunnels and network access control lists.
  • Assist in deploying and maintaining AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Support operational best practices using AWS-native tools and services.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability using automated monitoring solutions.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, infrastructure, and application issues within AWS and across the internet.
  • Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning and testing within AWS.
  • Assist in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation or similar technologies.
  • Assist with compliance efforts aligned with frameworks such as HITRUST, ISO 27001, or similar standards.
  • Support other duties as assigned with relevance to the items above.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required
  • Minimum 4 years of DevOps Production experience with AWS EC2, S3, Glacier, CloudFormation, CloudWatch
  • Minimum of 15 years' Network Engineering experience with Enterprise Firewalls, VPN's, Wireless controllers, and RADIUS servers
  • CWNA, CWSP, and CCNA or equivalent experience desired
  • AWS Professional Certifications preferred
  • Implementation experience with ISO 27001, SSAE 16, HITRUST or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Experience in regulated industries (Healthcare, Medical Device, FinTech, etc.) is a plus.

Work Environment
  • This is largely a sedentary role.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
  • Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time

Salary Range - $142,500 - $204,250

The salary range displayed represents the annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The actual salary may vary [differ] based upon various factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, licensure/certifications, and geographic location.
