Job Title: SQL DBA

Location: Houston, Texas / 3-4 days/week onsite

Contract to Hire role with no visa sponsorship available

Job Description

Required Skills & Experience:

12 years of SQL Server DBA experience managing a large number of Microsoft SQL Server databases, including SQL Server 2019, 2017, 2016, 2014, and 2012.
Strong experience administering and supporting PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, and high-availability solutions.
Windows Server and SQL Server clustering experience is required.
Strong SQL and T-SQL scripting skills.
Experience with PostgreSQL query optimization, indexing strategies, database maintenance, and migration between SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
Critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills.
Aptitude and disposition to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS administration and support experience.
Hands-on experience with SQL Server replication, log shipping, and Always On Availability Groups.
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Backup, Azure Monitor, and Azure networking concepts.
Experience managing, migrating, and optimizing SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases in Azure cloud environments.
Knowledge of Azure security, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, and performance optimization best practices.
Experience with Azure DevOps, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools is a plus.
AWS cloud experience is a plus.
Experience with Idera auditing tools, SOX controls, and management of SQL databases in DMZ environments.
Oracle database management experience.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
