Blackstraw is seeking a dynamic Solutioning Sales Professional to lead client engagement, solution design, and pre-sales activities across the USA market. This hybrid role blends IT Sales with Solutioning / Pre-Sales, ensuring customers receive the right technology solution aligned to their business needs.
This is a remote role supporting the USA with travel involved and you will have the freedom to pursue opportunities across markets, industries, and regions.
Role Overview
The Solutioning Sales professional will drive the full cycle from client discovery → solution design → proposal → closure. You will work closely with engineering, delivery, and partner teams to craft cloud, data, and AI-driven solutions that address customer challenges.
This role requires strong communication, technical understanding, and the ability to translate business problems into actionable solution architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client discovery to understand business, functional, and technical requirements
- Design solution approaches across Cloud, Data Engineering, AI/ML, and Modern Platforms
- Create SOWs, proposals, solution decks, and effort estimates
- Support pre-sales cycles, demos, and technical positioning
- Collaborate with engineering, delivery, and partner teams (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Databricks)
- Participate in RFP/RFI responses with structured solution narratives
- Influence deal strategy, pricing, and negotiation
- Ensure solution feasibility and alignment with delivery capabilities
- Build strong relationships with enterprise clients and partner ecosystems
Required Skills & Experience
- 10 to 20 years of experience in IT Sales, Solutioning, Pre-Sales, or Technical Consulting
- Strong understanding of Cloud (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform) and Data Engineering / AI concepts
- Ability to translate business problems into technical solution architectures
- Experience creating SOWs, proposals, and solution documentation
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with distributed teams across the USA
- Ability to work in fast-paced, consulting-driven environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Databricks, Snowflake, or similar modern data platforms
- Experience in consulting, system integration, or cloud-native solutioning
- Understanding of enterprise architecture, integration patterns, and data pipelines
- Prior experience in customer-facing technical roles
